Enhanced PI control and adaptive gain tuning schemes for distributed secondary control of an islanded microgrid

This paper develops an enhanced proportional-integral distributed control scheme (EPI-DCS) to regulate the frequency and voltage of a droop-controlled microgrid share power mismatch, simultaneously. The proposed EPI-DCS is designed by using Lyapunov function method adding new consensus-based term integrand dynamic conventional PI control. In EPI-DCS, generation units intermittently exchange information with neighbouring units, through communication network. Considering network time delays, stability examined Lyapunov–Krasovskii linear matrix inequality conditions, maximum stable delay calculated. order stabilise system for large destabilising adaptive gain proposed. Effectiveness validated numerical simulations detailed models components converters, including load change, outage, gain-scheduling against delays.
